It is funny how things change. This time last year Millwoods Auction had a all day St George’s bonanza at our regular Tuesday auction.
The day was led Dave Wilkes the poet (creating sonnets on William Shakespeare birthday) and Mad Dominic the comedic magician (generating mayhem as a good dragon hunter should do). The Sun shone even though the rain still managed to show its regular presence, the curry dinner was luscious as usual and there was bargains galore to be had.
One year later, St George’s Day is on lock down. People have died from a disease that did not exist in humans before, the government struggle to protect doctors, nurses and carers trying to look after the vulnerable. The pubs are shut and the ownership of our Tuesday venue has changed hands.
The future is not what most people thought it would be. The world has changed and will never go back. A pandemic has altered human existence, what would a climate change event do?
So as we prepare to see how the end of the lockdown will happen, lets enjoy the dynamic duo invite one and all to a proper St George’s fun day.
